Looking to elope in the Poconos? This elopement at Mt. Tammany was the perfect combination of adventure and romance and allowed the couple to spend the whole day focused on them! This elopement was also published on wandering weddings and you can check out what they had to share here!
Katie and Paul were such a sweet couple to work with. When planning this Poconos elopement they wanted to stay close to home, while still showing their adventurous spirit and life of the party vibes.
They chose an adventure elopement because they wanted to have a day that was focused on their relationship and the things that they love. We helped them to create a timeline that was slow moving, allowed for plenty of time for activities, and time to enjoy and connect.
Getting Ready for a Poconos Elopement
We started their day with getting ready photos at home. They got ready and then got dressed one at a time so we could capture a first look. We had Paul get ready and head to the hiking location, and then had Katie get dressed so we could capture a few portraits and then head on to the hike!
When we got to the location Pauly and Dan went ahead on a quick 2 minute walk to get set for the first look before Katie and I joined them. They had their first look and a minute to themselves before we continued up the mountain.
Hiking the Poconos Mt. Tammany Trail
The hike was about .5 miles to the outlook where the ceremony took place. We took it slow and stopped many times for photos enjoying all the views the trail had to offer.
When we got to the top, the couple took a few minutes to enjoy the view, we then took individual photos of each of them before getting ready for their vows.
Vows overlooking the Delaware Water Gap
They kept their vows short and sweet and for this Pennsylvania elopement our couple decided on a self-uniting marriage license that allows for no officiant and us to sign as their witnesses.
After the ceremony, they popped some champagne and enjoyed the view a bit longer before heading to a beautiful wooded spot for their first dance.
When we finished their first dance, we hiked about 20 minutes back down the mountain and walked over to the river at the trail head for a picnic.
The couple brought some pizza, a small cake, and some beers to enjoy by the river. We turned on some music and allowed them some time to celebrate. Snagging a few quick photos and the leaving them to enjoy their newly married bliss together alone.
Finishing this Poconos Elopement off with pizza and beer!
We loved how intimate and true to them this elopement was and the location was perfect! No need to travel far this trailhead in the Poconos was gorgeous for the adventurous and outdoorsy, but simple enough that it could be done in her dress and sandals! You can find more on Mt. Tammany here!
